Eight years ago, my father asked if I would digitally restore an old photograph he had of his second cousin posed with wife and a Christmas cactus on their front porch. After restoring that photograph, I could do anything. It was a mess. Dad died of cancer in 2004. He willed me that very same Christmas cactus that his cousin had given him years before. I didn't receive it until just this past Thanskgiving (2010). It is over 100 years old and huge. I brought it home from Indiana and it sits in my living room, blooming for the first time in four years. |
